LOCATION

Our flat in Ca’ Amadi is just minutes from the vaporetto stop at Rialto (lines 1 & 82), a short journey down the Grand Canal from the main arrival points of Piazzale Roma and the Ferrovia (railway station).  A truly magical way in which to arrive!

From the busy Campo San Bartolomeo, a street leads north towards the Church of San Giovanni Crisostomo, off which is the square of the Teatro Malibran, one of the city’s major venues for classical concerts.  The Corte Ca’Amadi lies just to one side.  Nearby is the house where Marco Polo lived.

Being on the edges of the sestieri of Cannaregio, Castello and San Marco, it is extremely convenient for the city’s main attractions, all of which are in easy walking distance.  Equally, the quieter residential areas, with shops, bars and restaurants can easily be found close by and ‘off the beaten path’.

Vaporetti for the outlying Islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello leave from the Fondamente Nuove, again a short walk away.

Close by, across the Rialto Bridge are the spectacular daily fish and vegetable markets and the residential sestieri of Dorsoduro and San Polo.
